Just a week ago we were discussing Congressman Brett Guthrie's Christmas eve letter to the BG Daily News. Well, as much as he's trying to distance himself from voting to take away constitutional rights then, it's even funnier today:

So he's doubling down. Nothing in the NDAA bill has anything to do with suspending Habeas Corpus. But oddly, he then sends this out:

So, now he's signing on to a bill (THAT IS AWESOME) to clarify and correct his earlier mistake of a vote that 20 minutes earlier he said was perfectly fine. I guess this is a way to say he was wrong but not admit it outright? Why would you amend it if it does not allow for rights to be taken away?
Here is the link to H.R. 3676 I do appreciate his signing on to this but we aren't dumb. His original vote was a violation of the constitutional rights of American Citizens and did in fact suspend Habeus Corpus. Very few people say it did not, there was an Obama supporter on Daily Kos who did use Congressman Guthrie's defense. That said, good for Congressman Guthrie for seeing the light and noticing he needed to correct his mistake.
