Well, David Givens basically killed the Hemp Legislation. I could go in a rant like many people on how awful David Williams is as a Senate President. Fact is, I think this is something else. There has to be something these two men want. Why would they hold up a bill that would create jobs?
It's not weed they are growing. So, the whole "Law Enforcement" angle can't be it. I've even heard of times where Senate President David Williams helped kill an anti-gay adoption bill. So, it's not like SP David Williams is opposed to more 'progressive' policies that would allow the crop our grandfathers were growing to be grown in our backyards?
I know David Givens has floated his wish to be Senate President and eventually Governor. Is blocking a bill that would create farm and manufacturing jobs in Kentucky the way to do it? Have I got it all wrong? Are we just seeing Hemp (now supported by GOP leaders like Sen. Rand Paul, Congressman Guthrie and Ag Commissioner James Comer) used as that wedge issue that backward Kentuckians will rally around?
