Chris Hightower Scores Three Big Endorsements for State House Race!
Three Key Conservative Groups Endorse Republican Chris Hightower for State Representative
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — May 16, 2012
AUBURN, KY – Kentuckians for the Right to Bear Arms, Take Back Kentucky and the national organization Republican Liberty Caucus have announced their endorsement of Chris Hightower. Hightower is running for state representative to serve the 16th Kentucky House District which includes Logan and Todd counties.
“We feel with you in Frankfort our gun rights will be in less danger,” said Norman Davis, president of the Kentuckians For The Right To Bear Arms. “While other national organizations may endorse other candidates than those of us in Kentucky, we feel we Kentuckians know who will represent us the best in the State Legislature.”
Take Back Kentucky, a constitutional conservative group of citizen activists that monitor the state legislature, also gave a full endorsement for Chris Hightower. Additionally the National group, Republican Liberty Caucus, endorsed Hightower. Kentucky Republican Liberty Caucus State Coordinator Greg Jent commented: "Chris Hightower's principled stance on the role of government and his deep understanding of the economic troubles facing the Commonwealth made it very easy to lend our endorsement for Kentucky's 16th District Representative to Mr. Hightower. The state needs competent leaders like Mr. Hightower to guide us forward as the state finds solutions to the pension crisis and getting our fiscal house in order. "
”The duty of an elected official is to uphold the constitution, including the bill of rights. I’m honored to receive these endorsements and will always stand in defense of liberty,” said Republican Chris Hightower.
Kentucky's primary election is Tuesday, May 22.

Canadian Carpet Bagger and Fan of NDAA Endorses Webb-Etch-a-Sketch. Good News, She Showed up For Endorsement, But Not Budget Vote.
Monday, 23rd of April
Well, last time we posted the Canadian Congressman from Northern Kentucky and his wife from Gotham city were on a war path because Thomas Massie was so sneaky to by getting Canadian Congressman to talk about him on the floor of the house in 2010 in his plot to use it in 2012. Well, granted his wife and he had been working for Alicia Webb-Etch-A-Sketch before today..... well they made it an official coming out party today. They also brought Uncle Jim Bunning. Yes, I like Jim but when he's angry.... he's angry. Seems he's mad at Rando Paul:
“I endorsed in the U.S. Senate race,” Bunning said. “I took the lesser of two evils there. One person didn’t tell me the truth, and the other person I wasn’t sure what he would do when he got there. He’s disappointed me since he’s got there.”Considering Rand hired most of Bunning's staff.... that has to be awkward. I wonder if Alecia stands for the Patriot Act and Jailing American Citizens like Geoff Davis? We do know she showed up for the announcement and all fundraisers. Maybe they should have held a fundraiser on the state house floor during the budget vote. Oh, by the way.... the guy who actually created the REINS ACT endorsed and is actually busting his butt for Massie on the campaign trail. Click This to read about the REINS Act author endorsing Massie. CUE THE MUSIC BOYS!

Geoff Davis Uses Massie for Political Gain in 2010. Not OK for Vice Versa in 2012.

2nd of April 2012
I'm not going to say anything about this...... yet. Just watch and see why would anyone be mad about Massie's ad, unless you support someone else:

Obamacare and Rand Paul blocking Iran sanctions. Has DC started to figure it out?

Ah.... Glorious KBS!
Wednesday 28th of March 2012
First Obamacare getting hit hard but that doesn't mean it's over:
Also, Kudos to Sen. Paul:
Also, follow up to Trayvon story I posted on the last time. Just because someone is possibly a bad egg..... doesn't mean they are not covered by the law. Also, just because someone is killed by a mexican guy doesn't mean this is a racist incident. There is real problems going on and people are fighting over some pointless stuff lately.

The murder of Trayvon Martin. Not an unfamiliar story.

Wednesday 21st of March 2012
Between the KONY video and now Trayvon Marin the outrage movement on the internet is strong. The difference in the KONY video and Trayvon? KONY video makers are just trying to get paid where as in the Martin case we've seen another injustice in our system. The Story is not that he was killed. People kill each other without cause often.
The injustice that makes this a fight worth fighting is what appears to be a cover-up by the Sanford Police. As good citizens we should demand excellence with our police to help protect the honor of our excellent police who are on the force. This case seems to have been botched and the man who shot the kid should be in jail and have pending murder charges.
For those who don't know, Trayvon Martin, 17 (above), was shot to death on February 26 while walking to his dad's girlfriend's house from a convenience store just north of Orlando, Florida. He was unarmed, wearing a hoodie, and carrying some Skittles and iced tea he purchased at the mini-mart.

George Zimmerman, 28 (above), is the neighborhood watch volunteer who shot Trayvon. Zimmerman told police he shot the young man in self-defense. As more information about the incident emerges, this explanation sounds increasingly less plausible.
The case has sparked widespread interest and outrage online, in part because Zimmerman remains free, and Trayvon was an innocent kid doing nothing wrong, who cried out for help as he was attacked. His only threat, it seems, was being a black male.
A roundup of links for further reading and following, as the case evolves:
• Mother Jones has an excellent explainer piece here, and ongoing coverage.
• A New York Times item today: US Grand Jury opens an investigation into the killing. Related news about FBI involvement at the Miami Herald.
• A phone call from Trayvon to a 16-year-old female friend sparks new demands for Zimmerman's arrest.
• "How we can leverage the anger over individual incidents into a larger restructuring of perceptions and justice," asks journalist Farai Chideya. "It’s easy to work up ire about individual cases, but harder to work on systemic change." She's on Twitter here.
• Charles Blow at the New York Times has been on the story. One item is here, but his Twitter feed is well worth a follow for ongoing (and paywall-free) updates.
• Ta-Nehisi Coates, senior editor for The Atlantic, has been reporting on the case as well. He's updating on Twitter, too.
• The blog for MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry show is a good source of updates, and the show itself has been covering the case as well.
• Zimmerman has been variously identified as "White," and "White Hispanic." An NPR opinion piece asks, What if he were black?

Kentucky House Prepares For Passing Smoking Ban after This Years Election.

Thursday, March 15th, 2012
"No caffeine, No protein, No booze or Nicotine Remember everything gives you cancer." Those are the great lyrics to Joe Jackson's song "Cancer." No matter what we do in Kentucky it seems that some nanny is trying to look out for someone else best interest. Well, this week in the house committee Susan Westrom and crew brought up the statewide smoking ban once again.
"If we don't have the votes to get it out the Senate, I don't think we'll vote on it in the House," said Rep. Susan Westrom. Which is quite interesting. The reason being they are trying to hide from the light of day in an election year. Now is the time to expose the Nanny state that is sitting in our state house.
Everything they do backfires. Higher taxes has turned people to rolling their own. It's not only in Kentucky:
Smoking in bars and restaurants has been banned in New York City since 2003 but Mayor Michael Bloomberg recently added beaches, parks, and pedestrian plazas to the long and growing list of places where smoking is verboten in the Big Apple. "Sin taxes" on cigarettes have driven the average price of a pack to more than $11.
Yet in a city renowned for its innovation and drive, smokers have found ways to work around government attempts at social engineering. These include the booming "loosie" trade, where street entreprenuers risk arrest to sell loose cigarettes for a dollar each on the streets of Manhattan; tobacco crops blooming in Brooklyn; and a thriving Soho bar/restaurant that survived the smoking ban thanks to an obscure grandfather clause.
With so much tax revenue being lost to the black market, and even the green market, perhaps it's time for a mayor who made billions in the free market to consider allowing business owners to set their own policies, and let the marketplace sort out the demand for smoking and smoke-free establishments.
My favorite lines came from the Lexington Herald Leader: "Westrom said it might take another year for legislators to become educated on the issue.
"This is a difficult issue for some of the rural legislators," she said. "Sometimes it takes time to get used to a message before you truly hear it.""

Basically, Westrom admits a bad election year issue and you hill jacks in rural counties aren't smart enough to understand how the smart folks in Lexington are trying to save you from yourself.
Meanwhile Kentucky is taking out a loan to pay interest on another loan before raising taxes to pay both loans and this is what we are spending time on? That and making sure the "foreign fish" have papers at restaurants with an exemption for what we feed our kids. Something that most cities can decide (granted it's a property right so even they shouldn't decide this). Fact is, in Bowling Green where I sit, pre-smoking ban over 70% of restaurants were smoke free. The Free Market and Free Will is a beautiful thing and to kill it in the name of good intentions is not. QUESTION YOUR CANDIDATES! Where do they stand on a state wide smoking ban! Do it before it's easier to list where you can smoke than where you can not.
